Every woman is a Queen!
I firmly believe that every woman is a Queen!
What do I mean by that? I mean that each woman is sacred - worthy of respect, love and belonging. She has her own unique and beautiful wisdom and strengths. When she taps into them, she is POWERFUL!!
Once she realizes she is in charge of her happiness and she gets to decide who and how she wants to be with life and with others, she has grasped her SOVEREIGNTY.
From this space, she can LOVE and LEAD with confidence, passion, and purpose in her personal realm (who and what she loves and feels responsible to).
To support womyn on their journey to QUEENDOM, I create *artful soulful* events and courses, and offer one-on-one coaching. I also speak to groups, facilitate workshops and women's circles, and contribute to publications. Want to work with me? Let's talk!
"Maybe you are searching in the branches for what only appears in the roots." -Rumi
I am the daughter of immigrants...
a Costa Rican mother and Italian father who raised me and my two brothers on an urban farm in the San Francisco Bay Area with a menagerie of pets, a prolific garden, and loud family parties with so many cousins, arroz con pollo and accordion music.
Thirteen years of Catholic school (where I was taught by conservative nuns and radical hippies) laid a foundation for ritual, sacred art, and the pursuit of justice. Some of the projects I have been blessed to work on have been building homes for families in Mexico, creating spiritual youth programming, co-founding a Slow Food chapter, and working with at risk teens at the YMCA and trafficking survivors in Kathmandu.
Now I live on the Bay Area coast with my husband and daughters whom I raised preparing tamales in the fall with their abuela, a collection of goats and chickens, and alternative models of education.
The wound is where the light enters you. -Rumi
A lifelong artist, I have explored performance, visual art, design and writing. As an adult I was brought me to an indelible awareness of the trauma embedded in my nervous system as a result of developmental trauma and a history of emotionally abusive relationships and an equally profound awareness of our ability to heal when provided with the right support. Through somatic, holistic and creative practices, I experienced a return to my body/thoughts/ feelings, a clearer sense of personal sovereignty, stronger boundaries, greater purpose, and an increase in health and vitality.
"...to be free is not merely to cast off one's chains, but to live in a way
that respects and enhances the freedom of others."
I believe the time has come for us as womyn and as entrepreneurs to acknowledge that for any of us to be truly free, we need to be about the business of supporting others in their liberation. In this spirit, I seek to center and collaborate with my systers of every creed, color, and orientation who have not historically sat at the table of opportunity.
I also love to work with vulnerable populations whether they be inner city youth, trafficking survivors, or homeless women and children. I seek to create a more just and compassionate world for all, Why? Because we don't do this work to just FEEL better, we do it so that we can DO better with and for each other. When you are "healed enough" it's time to RISE UP and support each other.
